If you’ve tried to quit - maybe once, maybe a hundred times
and nothing’s changed for long, you’re not alone.
Maybe you’ve been to rehab.
Maybe you’ve done the 12 steps, seen the psychologists, tried the medications, made the promises.
Maybe you’ve tried to quit cold turkey, only to feel pulled back into the same pattern again and again.
And maybe part of you is exhausted. Ashamed. Frustrated.
Wondering, What is wrong with me? Why can’t I stop?
There’s nothing wrong with you.
And addiction was never the problem.
We treat it as a message - a survival response that was protecting you from pain your system didn’t know how to process.
Whether the pattern looks like alcohol, binge eating, porn, chaos, overworking, or compulsive scrolling…
The behaviour makes sense.
It’s just been doing the job your body couldn’t do on its own: regulate overwhelming emotion, soothe old wounds, or escape what felt unbearable.
And that’s why other approaches haven’t worked.
Because they were focused on stopping the behaviour -
Not healing what created the need for it.
and started focusing on learning to feel safe in your mind and your body again?
This work doesn’t use shame.
It doesn’t demand willpower.
It doesn’t require you to white-knuckle your way through urges.
What we offer is different:
A science-backed, trauma-aware process that helps your nervous system feel safe enough to stop running.
You’ll learn to meet what’s underneath with clarity, compassion, and tools that actually work - because they work WITH your biology, not against it.
You need a new kind of safety.
You don’t need more shame.
You need understanding.
You don’t need to fix the behaviour.
You need to meet the need beneath it.
Let’s begin there.
Hi, I’m Ash and I know what it’s like when the weight inside becomes too much.
I created this space for people like us; not “addicts,” not broken; just humans who never had the tools to regulate big feelings, unmet needs, or unprocessed pain.
You might have been told you have a problem.
But I see it differently.
The need to escape isn’t the problem.
It’s a message from your nervous system: I don’t feel safe. I don’t know what else to do.
Free From Addiction & Thriving brings together everything I teach in 1:1 work; the tools I’ve used to help clients stop white-knuckling their way through, and start meeting their pain with gentleness, curiosity, and truth.
This work is for people who want more than behaviour change.
You want freedom. Safety. Peace in your own body again.
Let’s walk that path together.
With love and care,
Ash

This isn’t about fighting addiction.
It’s about finally feeling safe enough that you don’t need to escape anymore.
Free From Addiction & Thriving is a space to understand the why behind the behaviour and offer yourself what you’ve always needed: co-regulation, safety, and the tools to process what was too overwhelming to hold alone.
Whether it’s alcohol, food, porn, chaos, scrolling, gambling, or something else… the focus here isn’t the behaviour. It’s what the behaviour was trying to soothe, numb, or solve.
You don’t need to fix yourself.
You just need a new way to meet what’s been hurting.
Discover why addiction is not the problem; it’s the strategy. You’ll uncover how your behaviour has been serving you: to numb pain, create control, feel something, or escape what’s unbearable. We don’t demonise the addiction. We listen to what it’s been protecting.
You’ll identify whether your addiction is tied to fight, flight, freeze, or fawn and learn how these responses show up in your daily life. This understanding helps you stop blaming yourself and start recognising what your nervous system has been trying to do for you.
Explore how your system moves from dysregulation to reaching for something outside of you and why that’s not irrational, but deeply intelligent. You’ll map your escape loops and begin to identify the emotions you were never taught to hold.
Learn how your earliest experiences shaped your ability to regulate emotions. We explore how your dysregulation may have been met with your caregiver’s dysregulation and how that shaped your coping strategies now.
Understand what co-regulation really means, why it was missing for you, and how this absence led to the need for external soothing. This insight softens shame and creates space for healing.
You’ll learn how to stay present with discomfort without escaping. This includes nervous system education, somatic awareness, and reflective tools that build your capacity to feel safely, rather than flee.
These aren’t fluffy journal questions. You’ll be supported to unpack specific patterns like:
• What was I trying to avoid or feel when I reached for [addiction]?
• What survival response does this connect to?
• What would I have needed back then, that I still haven’t received?
Move through the program at your own rhythm. Pause when needed. Return as often as your system needs support. This is yours; not a race.
To support deep, lasting change, we’ve bundled your chosen specialisation with the Mental Health Foundations program, a practical and neuroscience-informed pathway that helps you understand your brain, your body, and your healing process. This combination gives you everything you need to move forward with clarity, safety, and self-compassion.

The urge isn’t random. The behaviour isn’t shameful.
Your system was doing what it could to survive.
And now?
You’re ready to meet what’s underneath; not with force,
but with love.
Let’s walk through that together.
We don’t treat the behaviour as the problem. We help you understand the nervous system states, survival responses, and unmet needs behind it; so the urge naturally softens, without force.
Yes. This work is designed to help you understand and shift your relationship with the behaviour; without needing to be perfect to start.
You don’t need to be, but many people use this alongside therapy to go deeper into the body-based and emotional side of healing.
Absolutely. This experience is for anyone using external behaviour to regulate internal discomfort.
